Double Six Productions‘ debut short film, Alive, a powerful exploration of hope, connection, and men’s mental health, has won Best Editor at the Liverpool Fringe Festival 2026.
The film was also nominated in the Best Short Film category. Released publicly on 21 February via the Double Six Productions YouTube channel, Alive has already begun reaching audiences with its moving and deeply personal message. The film is available to watch free of charge on YouTube through the Double Six Productions channel.
Created by Double Six Productions, Alive follows a man, played by Pete John Mansfield, as he navigates the quiet and often unseen struggles that many men face. Through intimate storytelling and a compassionate approach, the film seeks to encourage conversations around mental health, reduce stigma, and remind people that support is always available.
“Alive was made to remind people that even in the darkest moments, connection can save a life,” said Marc Nelson, writer, editor and director of the film.
“This story is inspired by my own experiences with mental health challenges, and I wanted to present the subject in a sensitive and thoughtful way. Rather than focusing on graphic depictions, the aim was to help audiences connect with the emotions behind the story and recognise that there is always hope, support, and a path forward. I’m honoured that the editing of the film has been recognised with the Best Editor award at the Liverpool Fringe Festival.“
